Wedding at Coquillade Provence

Last July, I had the pleasure of photographing S&H’s wedding at La Coquillade Provence (also known as Coquillade Village) in the Luberon. It was a day filled with memorable moments: preparations, the first look, a secular ceremony in the amphitheatre, cocktails followed by dinner outdoors at Les Vignes restaurant, and finally an outdoor dance party.

Coquillade Provence: the ideal setting for a wedding in the Luberon

Coquillade Provence is a venue that is particularly well suited to weddings because it offers several different atmospheres in one place: quiet, luxurious rooms for getting ready, views overlooking the Luberon, different spaces for the ceremony, several possible locations for the cocktail reception and a choice of high-end catering options.

The site also offers considerable comfort for guests (numerous 5-star accommodations on site), making for a very pleasant experience.

Bride and groom’s getting ready

The reportage began with the preparations, each on their own. The groom chose to get ready at his family home, while the bride was in a room at Coquillade Provence hotel. I love this moment for all the details to photograph, as well as the atmosphere and interactions.

First look: seeing each other before the ceremony

S&H chose to do a first look: a moment alone together before the ceremony to see each other in private. Away from prying eyes, they were able to fully experience this first encounter without any distractions.

Wedding ceremony in the amphitheater at Coquillade Village

The secular ceremony was held in the amphitheater at Coquillade Village. It is a space that works very well for a ceremony: guests are comfortably seated and the floral arrangements beautifully frame the bride and groom.

Cocktail at Les Vignes restaurant

After the ceremony, everyone headed to Les Vignes for cocktails. This gave guests the opportunity to stroll through the estate’s pretty Provençal lanes. Cocktail hour is the best time to take candid photos of guests happily interacting with each other as they catch up. The atmosphere was convivial and the sunset over the vineyards was magnificent.

Couple photos at sunset

At the end of the cocktail reception, we took advantage of the sunset to take photos of the couple. The light becomes softer and more diffuse at this time of day, naturally enveloping the Luberon landscape, vineyards and gardens. The bride and groom took this time as a break from their beautiful day to capture natural images of their closeness.

Outdoor dinner and dance

The meal took place outdoors on the restaurant terrace, which allowed for continuity throughout the day. The bride and groom and their guests were able to enjoy the dishes offered by this restaurant, renowned for its cuisine.

The wedding cake arrived amidst the guests, in a very festive atmosphere. It is a pivotal moment, heralding the start of the evening and the opening of the dance floor.

Getting married at Coquillade Provence

If you are planning your wedding at Coquillade Provence, this incredible venue allows you to vary the images without having to travel around: preparations, first look, ceremony, cocktail reception, dinner and evening party can all take place on site, with very different settings. This often results in a coherent and fluid reportage that tells the story of the day as it was experienced.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer at La Coquillade Provence, I would be delighted to discuss your big day with you and how you envisage your photographs.
