For over 12 years, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings at a wide range of wedding venues in Provence. That’s why I’ve chosen to share with you some of my favourite locations where I’ve worked as a wedding photographer in Provence.
How to choose a wedding venue in Provence?
Perhaps you chose this region for the pleasant weather, the beautiful golden light during the cocktail party, or the lavender fields for your couple’s photos. In any case, a wedding reception venue in Provence should enable you to welcome all your guests in the best possible conditions.
For example, a garden, courtyard or sufficiently spacious interior is required to host a religious or secular ceremony. This is even more the case for the vin d’honneur at the end of the day, which requires a lot of space to set up the catered buffets and accommodate up to several hundred people. As for the wedding dinner and party, perhaps you’d like to dine outdoors under a starry sky, with some elegant lighting to create a warm atmosphere. Or perhaps you’d like to dine in a beautifully decorated reception hall, right next to the dance floor.
Finally, there’s an important detail to bear in mind when choosing a wedding venue in Provence. It’s true that the weather is fine on most days, but sometimes the mistral or the rain are just around the corner. So it’s a good idea to make sure you have a satisfactory Plan B to accommodate each of the key moments of your wedding day.
Domaines, Mas et Châteaux for a wedding in Provence
Mas de la Rose
The Alpilles region is home to a number of my favorites. When you arrive at Mas de la Rose, you immediately notice the beautiful 17th-century building overlooking the splendid swimming pool. An exceptional setting, impeccable service and an excellent restaurant for a wedding that will leave your guests with unforgettable memories. A wedding at Mas de la Rose can accommodate 150 guests and sleep 24.
Château d’Estoublon
Perhaps you’re dreaming of a magical wedding at Château d’Estoublon. You’ll experience a wedding on a prestigious estate dating back to the 18th century. From the decor to the garden, not forgetting the quality of the service, I really enjoy working at this prestigious reception venue.
Château des 3 Fontaines
Château des 3 Fontaines is an elegant 19thᵉ century building nestled in the heart of a 5-hectare park. This estate has been carefully renovated to host elegant weddings in the Vaucluse.
Château la Tour Vaucros
Also, for a wedding nearAvignon, one of my favorite reception venues is Château La Tour Vaucros. When you visit it, you’ll realize the many possibilities available for your wedding. With its garden, châteaux and reception rooms, you can plan a wedding at Château La Tour Vaucros for up to 600 people for a cocktail reception and 250 for a meal. Finally, the château’s guest rooms and bedrooms can accommodate some of your guests.
Domaine Blanche Fleur
In Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne, just outside Avignon, Domaine Blanche Fleur is a lovely reception venue on the banks of the Sorgue. This former mill houses a small chapel, perfect for a religious ceremony. It’s hard not to fall in love with a wedding venue like this in Provence.
Domaines de Patras
Domaines de Patras is located in Drôme Provençale. Surrounded by 80 hectares of lavender and truffle oaks, this reception venue is nothing short of prestigious. You can’t help but be dazzled by the beauty of this 17th century residence and by the services offered by Kéty and Eric. The estate can accommodate up to 300 seated guests and 40 guests.
Mas d’Arvieux
Between Alpilles and Avignon, Mas D’arvieux is a reception venue offering refined services. Perfectly renovated and maintained, this Provencal farmhouse has many assets for an indoor or outdoor wedding. The Mas d’Arvieux is ideal for weddings of up to 170 people, and can accommodate 30 guests.
Mas de So
The Gard region has a number of top-quality reception venues. In my opinion, Mas de So is one of the best. It’s located just north of Avignon, amid vineyards, olive groves and lavender fields. You’ll be immediately charmed by Sonia and Marie-Ange’s exceptional welcome. The Mas orangerie is an incredibly well-crafted creation that blends seamlessly into the landscape.
Château La Gordonne
Château La Gordonne, nestled in the heart of the Var vineyards, offers a refined and romantic setting to celebrate your wedding. With its elegant gardens, authentic Provencal ambience and exceptional panorama, it’s the ideal venue for a chic and unforgettable wedding reception.
