Looking for a Provence wedding photographer who captures the real emotion of your day with elegance and discretion? Based in the South of France, I offer natural, candid wedding photography for couples who value authenticity, light, and human connection.
The landscapes, the golden light, and the elegance of Provence’s reception venues make South of France a dream setting for wedding celebrations. As a Provence wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the love stories of over 180 couples who chose Provence as the backdrop to their destination wedding. From lavender fields to olive groves, each corner of Provence offers a magical atmosphere to tell your story with authenticity and style.
I know that feeling at ease in front of a wedding photographer’s lens isn’t always easy. That’s why I work with a candid, discreet approach. Most of the time, you won’t even notice I’m there ; allowing me to capture the authentic emotion and atmosphere of your wedding day, creating timeless memories. I’ll gently guide you only during the couple session — suggesting beautiful locations with the best light, simple directions, and natural poses that feel authentic and effortless.
My name is Nicolas Terraes, French wedding photographer since 2013. Over the years, I’ve come to understand that what truly makes a wedding unique are the people — their energy, their cultures, their stories.
Based in Provence, I regularly document weddings at beautiful châteaux and venues throughout Provence and the French Riviera — including Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Cannes, Nice, Saint-Tropez, and many other iconic destinations.
My role as a Provence wedding photographer goes beyond taking beautiful images. I listen, observe, and connect. I aim to create a calm, trusting atmosphere so you can be fully present, and so I can capture moments that feel real, not staged.
What I love most in this work is meeting couples from all over the world and documenting their wedding day with emotion, simplicity and authenticity.
Each of my wedding photography collections begins with a meeting, in person or via a video call, to understand your needs and build a connection.
From the getting ready to the celebration, every collection I offer tells the story of the bride and groom — capturing their connection, the meaningful relationships they share with family and friends, the atmosphere, and all the thoughtful details that make their day truly unique
Each image is carefully edited to ensure visual harmony and a timeless feel. Your final images will be send in a private online gallery within six weeks, ready to be shared with loved ones and preserved for years to come.
In addition to full coverage of your wedding in Provence, I offer several thoughtful options designed to enrich your experience and help create unforgettable memories.
Before the big day, you may choose to add an engagement session — a beautiful way to celebrate your connection in iconic Provençal landscapes, while getting comfortable with my relaxed and natural approach.
To document the entire celebration, I also offer photo coverage of your Welcome Dinner and Brunch, capturing those relaxed, joyful moments shared with family and friends.
After the wedding, elevate your memories with a beautiful fine art photo book, handcrafted by a french artisan.
And for your wedding day itself, offer your guests a fun and memorable experience with a photobooth, complete with instant prints they can take home as keepsakes.
It’s essential to see if my photographic style truly matches what you’re looking for — throughout every stage of your wedding day, from preparations to the dance floor. On my blog, you’ll find real weddings photographed in stunning chateaux and venues across the South of France, and I’ll be happy to share full galleries so you can explore complete stories.
I love documenting destination weddings in the South of France with 12-hour coverage, to tell your story from the preparations to the start of the dance floor ideally.
Most of the time, I photograph weddings alone. I strongly advise my brides and grooms to take the “second shooter” option when the number of guests exceeds 180.
The most beautiful couple photos are taken in soft light, ideally about an hour before sunset. During the cocktail, 20 to 30 minutes are enough to create stunning portraits of the bride and groom. It’s also a moment of pause — a little cocoon of calm — in the middle of a very intense day.
Post-editing consists of meticulous processing of each image to ensure the quality of your entire photographs. Delivery times for final photos generally vary according to the number of shots taken and the time of year. You will receive your photographs within a maximum of 6 weeks.
I’ll be coming to your wedding with two hybrid cameras and wide-aperture fixed lenses that allow me to shoot in dark places without flash, and above all to create superb background bokeh.
Please let me know what you would like for your photographic memories. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible and give you all the information you need. See you soon!
“What a joy to have met Nicolas for this wonderful moment. He knew how to be discreet while providing us with an extraordinary photo report. Preparations for the dance party. From the civil and religious ceremonies, to the cocktail, to the couple photo sharing, everything is simply perfect. The light, the natural shots, even the often more posed group photos came out very natural. The photobooth was a huge success during the cocktail for our friends and during the meal for the youngest. We are delighted with the work carried out.”
